Thanksgiving is about coming together, sharing a meal and giving thanks for the people and communities that make our lives richer. However, for too many families in York Region, putting enough food on the table can be a challenge.
Your generosity can help provide nutritious food and support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across York Region.
Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can, your donation helps the Food Bank of York Region provide essential food and support to people in our local communities.
There are many ways to share the harvest.
Invite your community to collect nutritious, non-perishable food items for local families.
Suggested items include:
• Canned vegetables and fruit
• Oils, fats and spices
• Canned soup and beans
• Pasta and pasta sauce
• Rice and grains
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Peanut or nut-free alternatives, where appropriate
• Shelf-stable milk
• Baby and family-friendly food items
• Other high-demand items identified by the Food Bank
Raise funds that help us safely move and distribute that food through our network of community partners across York Region. Together, your donations help strengthen local food access and ensure community partners have the food they need to serve people where they live.
Set a fundraising goal, create your own campaign and invite friends, family and colleagues to help Share the Harvest.
