Nutritious meals are essential for children to thrive. But not all children have access to healthy balanced meals. Some children have to skip meals because there isn’t enough food in the home to put on the table. Sadly, they are likely to have a harder time concentrating at school and their overall well-being can be affected.
To meet the need, The Food Bank of York Region has created a School Food Program, open to all schools in York Region. This program enables every student to access nutritious snacks and meals during school, and to take home as well. Click here for schools and other community partners that we currently serve.
The Food Bank of York Region provides healthier food choices to 88+ community partners that service 24,000+ people through local food banks, schools, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, social housing and other agencies that provide meals and food to their clients.
Help us to continue feeding vulnerable children to ensure they have the energy to play, to learn, to grow, and the opportunity to thrive!
